Tulalip Resort Casino has successfully completed a significant expansion and renovation project spanning three years and covering 70,250 square feet. This enhancement introduces new gaming spaces and amenities, modernized bars, a revamped high-limit slots area, and improvements to dining facilities.
The initiative, which was first revealed in November 2023, saw the construction of a northern extension that began in January 2024. The newly expanded gaming area officially opened in July 2025, coinciding with renovations throughout the rest of the property.
The northern addition has increased the casino’s gaming floor to a total of 270,250 square feet and added 400 new slot machines, bringing the overall count to over 2,600.
Among the new features is the North Bar, which serves cocktails, wine, and craft beers, along with a covered outdoor patio and designated smoking area. The entrances on the north and east sides are adorned with metallic tribal storytelling spindle whorls and large arched timber beams, while the grand entrance faces the Tulalip Amphitheatre and Seattle Premium Outlets, complemented by a beautifully landscaped courtyard.
Additionally, a striking 38-foot-tall, seven-ton Center Bar has been introduced at the center of the gaming floor. This structure is designed around the casino's new themes and features symbolic sea life that reflects the Salish Sea bay.
The 3,366-square-foot Center Bar and lounge area provides bar-top gaming and seating for up to 60 patrons. Other enhancements include renovations to the 4,000-square-foot high-limit slots room and design improvements across various casino restaurants.
The overall design of the property is inspired by the culture and traditions of the Tulalip Tribes, utilizing natural materials and colors drawn from the Salish Sea, coastal shores, and surrounding forests. Shades of blue and grey echo the nearby waters and beaches, while cream tones with copper and gold accents capture the essence of Pacific Northwest sunsets.
A new ceiling design incorporates wayfinding elements that depict schools of fish swimming alongside fishing nets, along with symbols representing water currents, ripples, piers, nets, forage fish, and jellyfish.
Marci Fryberg, President and COO of the Tulalip Gaming Organization, expressed pride in the project’s completion, stating, “We are proud of the hard work and energy everyone has put into this project and to keeping Tulalip Resort Casino as the Northwest’s most distinctive gaming, dining, meeting, entertainment, and shopping destination.”
He added, “We have been deeply gratified by our guests’ positive response throughout the three-year journey. They have shared our excitement as each phase was revealed, knowing our goal is focused on delivering an unparalleled guest experience now, and far into the future.”
Swinerton Construction acted as the building contractor, collaborating with the internal Project Team and Division Leaders, while Rice Fergus Miller served as the architectural firm for this endeavor.
