In Russia, Umar Kremliev, the head of the International Boxing Association, has called for the regulation of online casinos. He supports the Finance Ministry's initiative to legalize the industry with a tax of at least 30% on revenue.
Kremliev believes that such measures would lead to the natural decline of the illegal market while doubling tax revenues.
He also claims to be the author of the idea for a Unified Regulator for Gambling (ERAI), which he proposed to include online casinos in the system back in 2023.
