Jamul Casino Resort has officially appointed Chris Kelley as its inaugural Chief Executive Officer, bringing over two decades of leadership experience in the hospitality, gaming, and entertainment industries.
In his new position, Kelley will oversee the operations and strategic growth of Jamul Casino Resort. He will also work closely with the Board of the Jamul Indian Village Development Corporation to enhance economic and Tribal interests beyond the current operations.
Prior to joining the San Diego resort, Kelley served as the President of Hard Rock Casino Tejon, where he managed the launch of what is recognized as the largest private hospitality investment in Kern County's history.
Kelley's career features senior roles in prominent hospitality and entertainment companies, along with extensive experience in managing gaming establishments through new openings, operational growth, and strategic changes.
Before his tenure at Hard Rock, Kelley held the position of President & COO of MGM Resorts International Northeast Group, overseeing MGM Springfield in Massachusetts and Empire City in New York. He has also served in various executive capacities at MGM Resorts, including President & COO of MGM Northfield Park and CFO of MGM Detroit.
Kelley began his career in San Diego, taking on several leadership roles at Viejas Casino & Resort, where he held positions such as CFO and General Manager. His tenure there equipped him with a deep understanding of the Southern California gaming and hospitality landscape.

Kelley holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science from Connecticut College and a master’s degree in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
