The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) in India has reported the blocking of 8,376 iGaming website URLs as of March 28, 2026. This action was taken in response to a query in the Lok Sabha.
Notably, over 4,800 of these blocks occurred after the PROG Act came into effect on October 1, 2025. The government's efforts reflect a growing concern over online gambling and its regulation in the country.
