A new roguelike game titled High Roller Penny has launched its Steam page, developed by the South Korean indie studio Kniv Studio. This game draws inspiration from the Japanese gambling game pachinko, offering a unique twist on gameplay.
The story follows a bunny girl named Penny, who kidnaps a debtor hero for the underground organization Yami-Pachi, which conducts illegal survival games. Players will face off against other bunny girls in matches where they drop balls onto a board filled with pegs, earning points for each hit while trying to exceed a set quota with a limited supply of balls.
After completing several rounds, players can advance to the next stage, where a new opponent with her own mechanics awaits. Defeating all opponents will conclude the game and fully clear the hero's debt, while losing in any round will result in execution.
Winning rounds will reward players with tickets that can be exchanged for special pegs and balls. Players can place new pegs anywhere on the board to score more points than standard ones, and some pegs can influence the ball's flight, either launching it upwards or duplicating it upon hitting. Passive skills will enhance the synergy between pegs and balls, creating powerful combinations with other effects.
Players will also have the option to sell the resources they acquire, including tickets and balls, so they must use them wisely. The release date for High Roller Penny has not yet been announced. The studio's previous game, the turn-based strategy RPG STARDUST: Wish of Witch, has received very positive ratings on Steam.
