SiGMA News has reported on a fraudulent advertising campaign promoting a non-existent brand called Netflix Casino, which presents itself as a legitimate project of the streaming platform targeting Italian users.
According to the publication, the links in these ads lead to domains of illegal online casinos operating within Italy. This incident marks the second public case of exploiting a major global brand name, following the earlier investigation into Amazon Slots.
Key details highlighted by iGN include:
- Paid advertisements are being placed on Meta's social media platforms from accounts such as N-flix It, Top App It, Netflix Casino, N-APP, and ITNet.
- The operator's creatives feature a license from the Italian regulator ADM, claiming to be 100% legal in Italy, despite the brand not being listed in the official registry.
- In the ads, Netflix Casino is compared to legal operators like SNAI and Eurobet, falsely attributing to them a lack of licenses and less attractive terms.
- Fake pages of Italian publications such as La Repubblica, Corriere della Sera, and La Gazzetta dello Sport are reproduced in the ads, containing fabricated news, including claims that legal operators Lottomatica and Sisal are demanding checks on Netflix Casino due to excessive payouts to players.
- The landing page of the advertisement mimics a Netflix Casino app card in the App Store, listing Netflix as the developer.
- Some creatives reproduce a WhatsApp chat with a fake screenshot of a €15,000 withdrawal, along with a document titled 'Winners List' dated August 23, 2026, featuring fictitious names and winnings.
It is important to note that gambling advertising is banned in Italy, and as of August 10, 2026, the communications regulator AGCOM has prohibited the mention of bonus information and terms even in responsible gaming messages.
