Accel Entertainment, a distributed gaming operator, announced on Thursday that its subsidiary, Toucan Gaming LLC, has successfully acquired the assets of Rice Palace Inc. and South Louisiana Gaming Inc. This includes the Rice Palace Truck Stop Casino located in Crowley, Louisiana.
While the financial details of the acquisition remain undisclosed, it will add 50 video gaming devices (VGDs) to Toucan's operations in Louisiana. The company plans to expand the facility's capacity to 60 VGDs shortly, marking an estimated 8% increase from the 728 VGDs reported by Accel as of March 31, 2026.
Accel Entertainment stated that this acquisition aligns with its long-term strategy of measured growth and strategic investments in Louisiana.
Andy Rubenstein, CEO of Accel Entertainment, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, "This accretive acquisition reflects our continued momentum in Louisiana and our confidence in the long-term growth potential of this market." He added that Rice Palace has established a robust business model based on local relationships, 24/7 service, authentic dining, and operational discipline.
The Rice Palace Truck Stop Casino operates as both a video poker casino and a truck stop, attracting around 60,000 vehicles daily, and remains open around the clock.
This purchase broadens Accel Entertainment's geographic reach, with over half of its revenue generated from its operations in Illinois. The company also has distributed route operations in Georgia, Louisiana, Montana, Nebraska, and Nevada, boasting a portfolio of over 28,000 gaming devices nationwide, ranking fourth in the industry.
Accel plans to utilize its operational expertise, gaming and entertainment offerings, data analytics, and promotional systems to enhance customer engagement and operational efficiency at the new location.
