Recent reports indicate that Russia could potentially legalize online casinos within the next three months. This information was shared by RB Business, citing anonymous sources familiar with the discussions surrounding the legislative proposal.
In a conversation with RB Business, Deputy Finance Minister Ivan Chebeskov estimated that the state could generate around 100 billion rubles in revenue from the legalization of online casinos.
However, Chebeskov also noted that the issue of legalizing online casinos has not yet been resolved. He mentioned that there are two main approaches to combatting the illegal segment: enhancing website blocking and curtailing money transfer chains, or opting for the legalization of online casinos. A final decision on which path the government will take on this matter has yet to be made.
