The Brazilian regulatory authority, SPA, has suspended betting activities on 14 iGaming websites owned by various operators including Pixbet, Zeroumbet, Enseada, Select, Nexus, and RR Participações. As of now, players can only withdraw their funds.
The suspension is attributed to several factors. The regulator cited the operators' failure to comply with reporting requirements, Pixbet's lack of tools to identify players at risk of gambling addiction, and RR Participações' failure to provide documentation regarding its actual ownership structure. These measures will remain in place until the sanction proceedings are completed and the violations are rectified.
Previously, Pixbet was also targeted in Operation Arena due to suspicions of involvement in money laundering, tax evasion, and currency outflow.
