AGEM Index Sees 2.9% Monthly Rise in August 2026

In August 2026, the AGEM Index experienced an increase of 54.48 points, reaching a total of 1,929.25, marking a 2.9% rise compared to the previous month. However, when compared to the same month last year, the index has decreased by 2.7%, which translates to a loss of 54.48 points.

During this reporting period, out of the nine companies included in the AGEM Index, four reported gains in their stock prices, contributing positively to the index, while five companies saw declines.

The standout performer for the month was Light & Wonder Inc., whose stock price surged by 15.5%, contributing a significant 40.57 points to the index. Similarly, Konami Corp. saw its stock price rise by 7.1%, adding 33.85 points to the overall index.

On the downside, Aristocrat Leisure Limited was the largest negative contributor, with a 4.9% drop in stock price resulting in a 24.61-point decrease in the AGEM Index.

In August, all three major U.S. stock indices showed positive movement compared to the previous month. The NASDAQ increased by 3.9%, the S&P 500 rose by 2.6%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 1.3%.

The Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM) is responsible for compiling the monthly AGEM Index, which includes nine global gaming suppliers. Among these, five are based in the United States and are traded on the NYSE, Nasdaq, or OTC markets, while three are listed on the Australian exchange and one on the Tokyo exchange.

The index is calculated based on the end-of-month stock prices (adjusted for dividends and stock splits) of each company, with weights assigned according to their market capitalizations. For companies listed on foreign exchanges, market capitalizations are converted to U.S. dollar equivalents at the end of the month for consistency.
