Wynn Resorts Breaks Ground on Luxury Development in UAE

Wynn Resorts, in collaboration with its local partner Marjan, has officially commenced construction on the Janu Al Marjan Island project. This luxury hotel and residential complex is strategically located adjacent to the anticipated $5.1 billion Wynn Al Marjan Island casino resort in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates.

This marks the second collaboration between Wynn Resorts and Marjan, with the project set to introduce the contemporary hospitality brand, Janu, from the Aman Group. The Aman Group will oversee the management and operations of the property once it opens its doors.

Set to debut in early 2029, this timeline has shifted from the previously projected late-2028 opening that was announced when the project was first revealed in November 2025.

The waterfront development will feature a 132-room hotel, branded residences, wellness amenities, and social spaces. Planned facilities include a wellness center, two dining establishments, a nightlife venue, a private beach, and a beach club. Additionally, a nearby residential tower will provide units ranging from one to five bedrooms, along with a select number of standalone villas.

Notable figures from Marjan, Wynn Al Marjan Island, and the Aman Group were present at the groundbreaking ceremony. According to Abdulla Al Abdouli, CEO of Marjan Group, this project is integral to diversifying the hospitality offerings on Al Marjan Island and bolstering the tourism sector in Ras Al Khaimah.

Marjan emphasized that this groundbreaking signifies a crucial step in transforming Al Marjan Island into a globally recognized luxury destination, offering exceptional waterfront living and world-class experiences.

The developer also noted that this new luxury project will enhance the destination's attractiveness to international tourists, residents, and investors.

Max Tappeiner, President of Wynn Al Marjan Island, stated, "Janu is a thrilling addition to Al Marjan Island and complements our vision for Wynn Al Marjan Island. We anticipate a natural synergy between our guests and residents, which will benefit both properties significantly."

Wynn Al Marjan Island is expected to open in 2027, featuring the UAE's first licensed commercial casino. Wynn Resorts holds a 40% stake in this integrated resort and will manage the facility. However, the company has indicated a potential "moderate delay" due to the ongoing conflict in Iran.
