Virginia Senators Receive $100K Each from iGaming Coalition

In the United States, five Virginia state senators received $100,000 each from the iGaming operator coalition, Sports Betting Alliance, just four months after they supported a bill to legalize online casinos, despite opposition from the Republican faction.

Additionally, the coalition donated another $100,000 to Democratic Senator Mamie Locke, who introduced the bill in the Senate. This information was reported by Poole Report, referencing campaign finance records.

The Sports Betting Alliance, which includes operators such as bet365, BetMGM, DraftKings, Fanatics, and FanDuel, stated that they support politicians advocating for player protection and fund candidates from both parties. However, the bill was ultimately not passed, as the House and Senate could not reconcile differences on the last day of the session.
