26 Players of Portimonense FC Accused of Betting on Their Matches

The Portuguese Football Federation's disciplinary committee (FPF) has initiated proceedings against 26 players from Portimonense FC, who represented the club in the third division during the 2025-26 season, according to reports from Record.

The case, which spans nearly 600 pages, was triggered by a statement from an unnamed individual. iGN has provided details on the players with the highest number of bets:

According to Article 142 of the FPF's disciplinary regulations, betting on the outcome of an official match is punishable by a fine ranging from 10 to 50 units. Additionally, betting on a match or tournament involving the player himself carries a potential disqualification of six months to three years. The accused players have already received notifications and must present their defense arguments by Monday, after which the case will be decided by the committee.
