The Portuguese Football Federation's disciplinary committee (FPF) has initiated proceedings against 26 players from Portimonense FC, who represented the club in the third division during the 2025-26 season, according to reports from Record.
The case, which spans nearly 600 pages, was triggered by a statement from an unnamed individual. iGN has provided details on the players with the highest number of bets:
- Nuno Pereira — 1,536 bets (195 in the third division, 22 on his team's matches, 18 of which were on their losses)
- Rodrigo Carvalho — 915 bets (211 in the third division, 32 on his team's matches, 20 on their losses)
- Gonçalo Correia — 550 bets
- Daniel Cunha — 543 bets (41 in the third division, 15 on his team's matches, 4 on their losses)
- Alexandre Pimenta — 449 bets
- Afonso Lodge — 408 bets (145 in the third division, 5 on his team's matches, all on their losses)
According to Article 142 of the FPF's disciplinary regulations, betting on the outcome of an official match is punishable by a fine ranging from 10 to 50 units. Additionally, betting on a match or tournament involving the player himself carries a potential disqualification of six months to three years. The accused players have already received notifications and must present their defense arguments by Monday, after which the case will be decided by the committee.
