Seneca Resorts & Casinos has announced an $8.9 million investment in a new sports lounge at the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino in New York. Construction for the Seneca Sports Lounge is underway, with the venue expected to open by May 2027.
New Sports Lounge Details
The Seneca Sports Lounge will be located in the west concourse of the resort, occupying the space previously held by Blues Burger Bar and the 8 Clans gift shop. The venue is set to feature a bar with seating for 21, a sportsbook lounge with club chairs, a walk-up bar, a sportsbook betting counter, betting kiosks, and a restaurant area with 115 seats. A 98-foot video wall and additional video displays will be installed throughout the lounge, aiming to create an immersive sports viewing experience.
Design elements include sports memorabilia display cases, team logos integrated into dining table tops, and sports-themed decor throughout the ceiling, columns, and seating. The lounge will also incorporate lacrosse-inspired features to honor the Haudenosaunee, who are credited with introducing the sport known as the Creator’s Game.
Part of Broader Property Upgrades
The new sports lounge is one element of a larger investment strategy for Seneca Resorts & Casinos. At Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino, a $47 million renovation is underway to upgrade 594 hotel rooms and suites across 22 floors of the 26-story hotel tower. This work is being completed in phases and is scheduled to finish by December 2027.
Other properties are also seeing improvements. At Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino, a $2.7 million renovation of the Seneca Cafe has been completed, and a $5.8 million upgrade to the Thunder Mountain Buffet is planned for completion in November.
Why This Matters for Industry Stakeholders
The investment in a dedicated sports lounge signals Seneca Resorts & Casinos’ commitment to enhancing the guest experience and capitalizing on the growing popularity of sports betting and entertainment. For operators, this development demonstrates a focus on integrating sportsbook facilities with hospitality offerings, potentially increasing on-site engagement and revenue. Affiliates and suppliers may also find new partnership opportunities as the resort expands its amenities and betting options. The project highlights a trend in the industry toward creating multi-faceted entertainment destinations that appeal to sports fans and bettors alike.
