The Russian regulator, the EAPRI, has identified and successfully blocked over 200,000 websites of illegal operators in 2025, according to reports from RBC.
Nikolai Oganesov, advisor to the general director of Fonbet, commented to RBC that the current tools for combating illegal gambling have nearly exhausted their effectiveness. He noted that over 70% of cryptocurrency exchanges facilitate settlements with online casinos.
Oganesov also highlighted the EAPRI's initiative to transfer blocking functions from law enforcement agencies directly to the regulator. Meanwhile, Yuri Ermantaraut, president of BetBoom, pointed out that some resources deemed illegal remain accessible to users.
