The police in St. Petersburg, Russia, conducted a raid on the office of an unnamed illegal online casino, resulting in the arrest of the alleged organizer and the head of its financial department. This operation was reported by Irina Volk, the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to preliminary estimates from the police, the casino generated a revenue of approximately $13.162 million. A criminal case has been initiated under part 3 of article 171.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which carries a penalty of up to six years in prison.
Investigative actions were also carried out at the addresses of the suspects, leading to the seizure of computer equipment and documentation. The police are continuing efforts to apprehend accomplices involved in the operation.
