PENN Entertainment has inaugurated a new hotel tower worth $100 million at Hollywood Casino Columbus, marking a significant step in the company's strategy to expand its properties.
This new addition features 203 rooms, enhancing the upscale lodging options available at the Ohio gaming venue, and is anticipated to generate around 150 job opportunities. The 150,000-square-foot tower comprises 183 standard rooms, 20 luxury suites, a restaurant and bar named The Hill Eatery & Lounge, conference spaces, a fitness center, and an outdoor terrace.
Looking ahead, PENN intends to introduce an expanded high-limit table games area and a speakeasy bar at Hollywood Casino Columbus by the third quarter of 2026, contingent upon receiving the necessary regulatory approvals.
“We are thrilled to officially launch our new hotel in Columbus, further establishing our position as the premier entertainment destination in the area,” stated Jay Snowden, the Chief Executive Officer and President of PENN Entertainment.
The grand opening ceremony featured local dignitaries and guests, with festivities that included a parade led by The Ohio State University Alumni Band, a concert by Bret Michaels, a fireworks show, and a giveaway where attendees had the chance to win a 2026 Indian Motorcycle.
This hotel tower in Columbus is the third of four development projects announced by PENN that have been completed over the past year.
In 2025, the company launched a new land-based casino in Joliet, Illinois, along with a hotel tower at M Resort Spa Casino in Las Vegas. PENN is also set to open Hollywood Casino Aurora in Illinois on June 24, pending regulatory approvals.
“This opening signifies our third of four retail development projects completed in under a year, and we look forward to the grand opening of our new casino in Aurora, Illinois, in less than two weeks,” Snowden remarked.
Additionally, the company is working on another relocation project in Council Bluffs, Iowa, which is expected to debut in 2028, subject to regulatory approvals.
