Meta has announced that starting from April 2026, it will implement a commission based on audience location for advertisements shown on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and Audience Network. This fee is intended to cover digital services taxes (DST) and other local charges.
The commission rate will not depend on the advertiser's location but rather on the audience's region. This means that the total deduction may exceed the set campaign budget.
The commission rates by country are as follows:
- Austria โ 5%
- Turkey โ 5%
- France โ 3%
- Italy โ 3%
- Spain โ 3%
- United Kingdom โ 2%
It is important to note that the list of countries and rates may change as DST is introduced in new jurisdictions.
