In Malaysia, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil has identified Facebook as the primary platform for the distribution of iGaming content. According to his statements, Facebook accounts for a staggering 78% of all identified materials in this category.
YouTube follows in second place with 18%, while TikTok comes in third with just 4% of the content.
Furthermore, the minister revealed that 91% of all requests from the regulatory body, MCMC, for content removal pertain to online gambling and fraud. In total, the regulator has sent 470,593 such requests to platforms, of which 93% of the materials (436,661) have already been removed.
