On April 23, the Swedish regulator Spelinspektionen approved a technical order for licensed operators regarding player checks in the national self-exclusion registry. The subordinate act SIFS 2026:3 was released on April 29 and will come into effect on August 1, 2026. It regulates the procedures for checks before sending targeted advertising messages, during player registration, and when players log into the gaming system.

According to the regulations, each licensee will receive an Actor ID and API Key password from Spelinspektionen to connect to the registry. Before sending advertisements to players, licensees will be required to verify them through the marketing API, as well as during player registration and authorization in the system via the gaming entry API. When delegating the verification, the executor must apply the credentials of the licensee-client.
