Since the beginning of 2026, Indonesia's National Police have reported the resolution of 718 cases related to illegal online gambling. They have apprehended 1,164 suspects and seized assets worth $97.5 million. Additionally, they collaborated with the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology to block 278,000 websites and related content.
This announcement was made by the head of the National Police on July 1 during the celebration of the agency's 80th anniversary. He highlighted one of the largest cases during this period, which involved the dismantling of an international illegal online gambling network. This network operated 145 domains and included 322 foreign nationals, of whom 291 have already been designated as suspects.
