Georgia has unveiled a draft law aimed at establishing a new licensing category for international iGaming operators.

The proposed amendments in parliament include special licenses for operators offering online slots and sports betting exclusively to foreign clients.

Under the suggested measures, access to these platforms will be permitted only for foreign citizens and stateless persons, while Georgian citizens will find their access to the sites automatically blocked.

The draft law also introduces a more favorable tax regime for operators targeting the international market. Instead of the standard 20% tax on GGR applied to online casinos serving Georgian clients, operators licensed under the new system will pay a reduced 5% tax on GGR.
