Finland's NPB Resumes Investigation into White Hat Gaming

On January 20, 2026, Finland's National Police Board (NPB) formally requested White Hat Gaming (Malta) to confirm the resumption of administrative proceedings regarding ongoing violations of the Lottery Act. This information was reported by NEXT.io, citing documents obtained through a Finnish Freedom of Information (FOI) request.

The NPB had previously closed the case in August 2024, and it had not been publicly discussed until now.

According to the NPB, White Hat Gaming is associated with at least 16 Finnish-language online casino brands, including Slotsi, Topkasino, Huikee, Mahti, Simppeli, Pelataan, Vauhti, Teho, Igni, Flaksi, Black Jack City, Firevegas, Barz, LumiCasino, Lumo, and Huippukasino. These brands feature Finnish bank logos in their payment sections and promote themselves through Finnish-language affiliate networks.

The regulator is considering marketing bans and fines, which, if imposed, would automatically revoke the company's access to a license following the launch of Finland's regulated market in July 2027.

In a comment to NEXT.io, a representative of White Hat Gaming stated that the sites mentioned in the regulator's claims are managed by unrelated third parties that mimic its websites. The company is already engaging in constructive dialogue with the regulator to resolve the situation.
