The largest gambling holding in Brazil, NSX Brasil, which operates brands like Betnacional, Betfair, Mr.Jack.bet, and PagBet, is under scrutiny from federal tax authorities.
Recently, six searches were conducted across three states as part of an investigation into the company. Authorities suspect that NSX Brasil began its operations in the country 5.5 years before the market was legalized.
As a result, the tax agency is seeking to recover at least $58 million in unpaid fees, initiating 11 special cases against the holding. In addition to tax evasion, NSX Brasil is also accused of money laundering and improper use of currency.
