Aposta Legal reports that Brazil's prediction markets recorded 2.18 million visits in Q1 2026 before the government blockade.
The Brazilian publication iGamingBrazil has released data from Aposta Legal regarding the traffic of 27 prediction market domains that were blocked by the Brazilian government on April 24. According to the Secretariat of Prizes and Bets of Brazil (SPA), regardless of their name, prediction markets operated like bookmakers with fixed odds, as users took financial risks in exchange for potential payouts determined by the probabilities of outcomes.
iGN highlights the following key data:
Top 15 Platforms by Traffic:
- 1.46 million — Polymarket (67.0% of total traffic)
- 250,000 — Kalshi (11.4%)
- 118,000 — Robinhood
- 96,300 — PredictIt
- 91,700 — IBKR ForecastTrader
- 50,000 — Previsao
- 34,900 — Voxfi
- 23,600 — Palpitano
- 19,700 — Cravei
- 14,200 — Véspera
- 9,200 — PRÉVIAS
- 8,700 — Palpitada
- 4,200 — Palpita
- 2,300 — Pliks
- 2,300 — ProphetX
According to Aposta Legal, the top five platforms accounted for 92.2% of total traffic, while the remaining 22 shared less than 8%. Notably, Robinhood recorded 118,000 visits from Brazil despite not having formal operations in the country, with traffic linked to the launch of event contracts in the USA. Among the blocked platforms, at least five offered contracts on election outcomes, which is explicitly prohibited by Brazilian law.
Out of the 27 blocked domains, 10 had low or zero activity in Brazil (including OG, Fanatics Markets, Novig), indicating the preventive nature of the blockade. The regulator is shifting from a reactive model to a preventive one, not waiting for the growth of betting mechanics services in the local market.
