The Belgian Gaming Commission (BGC) has launched an investigation into the partnership between cryptocurrency casino Stake and former Chelsea and Real Madrid midfielder Eden Hazard. This comes after Hazard was named the brand's ambassador.
A representative from the regulator stated that the commission will examine whether the agreement is targeted at the Belgian audience. If confirmed, Hazard may be required to terminate his contract with the operator under the threat of sanctions.
In response to the situation, Hazard has updated his Instagram profile, clarifying that the product is not available to players from Belgium and Spain.
