The UK charity Gambling with Lives has reported a data breach involving personal information of families who lost loved ones to gambling-related suicides. The leak may have included sensitive health information, risk data, support measures, as well as names, addresses, contact details, birth dates, and donation information.
The compromised information was accessed through a hack of the third-party CRM platform Beacon, which serves over 1,500 charitable and cultural organizations across the country. In response to the breach, Beacon has engaged external specialists, notified the ICO regulator, patched the vulnerability, and enhanced monitoring efforts.
