DR Congo Mandates Registration for All Gambling Operators

The Ministry of Finance in the Democratic Republic of Congo has mandated that all companies engaged in gambling activities, including sports betting, casinos, lotteries, and prediction contests, must register with an electronic submission of identification forms by July 31.

This requirement aims to improve tax administration, and companies that fail to comply may face administrative sanctions and other measures.

The registration process is being conducted by the temporary regulator CSJA, which was established in January prior to the formation of the permanent authority ARJA. The relevant law is currently under consideration by Parliament.

Additionally, CSJA is gradually connecting operators to the national digital oversight platform, with the Ministry of Finance planning to complete the first phase of implementation by August 30.
