The police in Thakurgaon district, Bangladesh, have arrested 30-year-old Horshed Ali on suspicion of organizing an illegal online gambling network. During the arrest, authorities seized a smartphone that reportedly contained 38 applications from various online casinos, all registered under his name.
According to investigators, Ali not only participated in gambling himself but also recruited local youth and other residents to join in. Police believe that his activities have caused significant financial harm to many participants. Local residents have reported that the spread of online gambling has led families in the area into debt, with some victims reportedly taking their own lives.
