Sky River Casino's New Hotel Construction Progresses in Elk Grove

Sky River Casino has achieved significant construction milestones in the development of its new resort hotel located in Elk Grove, California. The project has transitioned from initial site preparations and foundational work to vertical construction.

On June 24, construction crews successfully completed the foundation pour for the West Tower of the hotel. This phase followed extensive excavation, grading, and the installation of reinforcing steel and formwork. A total of 1,500 cubic yards of concrete was utilized to establish the tower's base.

Starting on June 25, the construction of the superstructure for the West Tower commenced. This phase includes the installation of columns and beams, followed by the addition of floor slabs and further levels as the building ascends.

The foundation pour for the East Tower was finalized on July 6, enabling construction to progress simultaneously across both hotel towers.

These two towers are integral to Sky River Casino’s broader expansion initiative, which encompasses a 300-room hotel designed to enhance the existing offerings in gaming, dining, and entertainment.

Upon completion, the hotel is anticipated to be the largest in Elk Grove. The expansion will also feature a resort-style outdoor pool, a comprehensive spa and salon, and a versatile event and entertainment venue.

Additionally, the project will introduce enhanced high-limit gaming and VIP areas.

Holland Tudor, Vice President of Hospitality at Sky River Casino, expressed enthusiasm about joining the construction team at this pivotal stage, stating, “This is a privilege and a unique opportunity to help shape the future of this resort. We aim to define everything from the guest experience to the team that will bring it to life each day. We’ll continue to provide updates on construction progress as our shared vision comes to life.”

Foundations for the resort’s low-rise buildings, which will accommodate various guest services and operational facilities, have also begun construction.

According to the company, visitors currently spend an average of 2.4 days in Elk Grove, with around 80% choosing to stay overnight. Sky River Casino anticipates that the hotel project will increase the city’s accommodation capacity by over 40%.

Construction is expected to continue over the upcoming months as the development progresses toward completion.
