On May 26, the Ministry of Consumer Affairs in Spain ordered the blocking of the prediction market platforms Polymarket and Kalshi. This ban takes effect immediately and will last until a final decision is made regarding the sanction proceedings.
The ministry published a notification about the initiation of proceedings in the Official State Gazette (BOE) after unsuccessful attempts to notify the platforms directly at their legal addresses. According to the ministry's estimates, the procedure will take approximately 3 to 4 months.
