In South Korea, police have detained 361 minors aged 10 to 18 for participating in online gambling from January to July 2026. Among them, 71 children were under the age of 14, according to a report by Seoul Economic Daily, citing data from the National Police Agency.
The primary reason for the decrease in the average age of players is attributed to the accessibility of online gambling through smartphones and social media. A notable example is the popular iGaming product among Korean teenagers, H Game, which requires registration via a referral code shared through messaging apps, including Telegram.
