The Cyber Police of Gyeongnam Province in South Korea has reported the arrest of nine individuals involved in the organization and administration of 153 unnamed illegal iGaming websites.
Among those arrested, seven worked for a company that provided operators with ready-made iGaming platform solutions, including live streaming from foreign online casinos. The other two were involved in the bulk purchase and sale of gaming balances for accepting bets.
The total revenue generated by this group exceeded $187 million.
Three members of the group were arrested, including the CEO, while the remaining six were referred to the prosecution without detention. As part of the investigation, police have blocked 22 websites and secured a preliminary seizure of $690,000 in criminal proceeds. Additionally, the police have issued an international wanted notice through Interpol for two accomplices who have fled abroad.
