In Ukraine, a postal worker from Ukrposhta was found guilty of misusing her position after stealing 170,000 UAH (approximately $3,870) from a cash bag designated for pension and social payments. This incident occurred on September 10, 2022, and was reported by the Tiachiv District Court in the Zakarpattia region.
The court's ruling, issued on May 5, 2026, sentenced her to two years of probation. The employee admitted to playing at online casinos using funds from Ukrposhta. From January to September 2022, she transferred money from the postal office to her personal bank cards using official POS terminals, only to return the funds to the cash register when she had her own money.
