A lawsuit has been filed against SkyCity Entertainment Group, SkyCity Auckland Holdings Limited, and Malta's Silvereye Entertainment Limited by an unnamed group with American funding. The group seeks to have the lawsuit recognized as a class action.
The plaintiffs are challenging the legality of SkyCity Online, which is operated by Silvereye (licensed by MGA) on behalf of its subsidiary SkyCity Malta Limited, with technological support from GiG. The lawsuit covers the period from February 2020 to February 2026 and aims to recover lost funds for all players from New Zealand.
SkyCity denies any responsibility and intends to contest the lawsuit in court.
