A 35-year-old woman from Ryazan, Russia, has defrauded more than 50 individuals, amassing at least 8 million rubles (approximately $112,300). The funds were subsequently lost in online casinos, according to the Telegram channel Baza.
The investigation revealed that the woman sold expensive Apple products to acquaintances at discounts of up to 50% off the market price, intentionally operating at a loss to attract new customers. The money obtained was then deposited into online casinos in an attempt to win a large sum to cover her debts.
During questioning, the suspect admitted to suffering from gambling addiction and fully acknowledged her guilt. According to Baza, one of the victims lost around 2.5 million rubles (about $35,100).
