The Romanian gambling regulator, ONJN, has announced the blacklisting of approximately 800 websites belonging to unlicensed iGaming operators. This decision was made by the Oversight Committee and marks the largest single addition to the blacklist in the regulator's history.
Since its establishment in 2013, the ONJN has added around 1,500 sites to the blacklist up until April 2025. The recent action underscores the regulator's commitment to enforcing compliance within the industry.
The blocking was facilitated by a tool developed by the regulator to identify clone sites. In an interview with Gândul, the chairman of ONJN stated that in recent months, the agency has filed over 40 criminal complaints against unlicensed operators, including NV Casino, Verde Casino, and Vulkan Casino.
