A proposed mixed-use development spanning 28 acres in Reno aims to include a 6,000-seat soccer stadium, a hotel, gaming facilities, and retail spaces at the intersection of Kietzke and Peckham lanes.
Dubbed “The Boulevard Reno,” this initiative seeks to convert various parcels into a vibrant, walkable area that offers sports, dining, entertainment, and hospitality options, as indicated in application documents reviewed by the Reno Gazette-Journal.
The project plans to revamp the old Jones West Ford dealership site and a nearby strip mall, currently home to tenants like Grocery Outlet, Savers, and Dollar Tree, along with an unoccupied former Joann Fabric location.
Among the key features is a proposed 301-room hotel equipped with a casino, complemented by an open-air retail and dining district centered around a public plaza named Electric Avenue. The development could consist of up to eight buildings, with some reaching heights of seven stories.
In addition, developers are pursuing approval to extend Reno’s gaming overlay district across Kietzke Lane, along with requesting zoning modifications and a conditional use permit for the stadium, hotel, and outdoor recreational areas.
Estimates suggest that this development could create between 850 and 950 jobs and offer over 1,200 parking spaces on-site, with additional shared parking planned for significant events.
This project is linked to Reno Pro Soccer’s United Soccer League Championship team, which is set to begin play in 2027. The team has already started accepting deposits for season tickets ahead of its inaugural season.
A local ownership group purchased the former dealership property and adjacent retail areas in 2025 as part of efforts to reintroduce professional soccer to Reno.
Reno’s last professional soccer team, Reno 1868 FC, operated from 2017 until 2020 before shutting down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
