The prediction market platform Polymarket has entered into a multi-million dollar deal with streamer Edin Ross, promoting dozens of his videos, according to reports from Bitcoin.com referencing an investigation by The Wall Street Journal.
In at least five of these videos, Ross discussed how to trade using insider information, and his content became part of a campaign featuring fake winnings and duplicate websites.
Through advertising contractor Virality, Polymarket funded the promotion of at least 19 videos from content creators that outlined methods for market manipulation and trading based on insider data. The company responded by stating that it prohibits trading based on stolen and insider information, citing its own market integrity control system and partnership with Chainalysis to monitor suspicious transactions. Additionally, the platform has promised to conduct an audit of the promotional content.
