Pennsylvania Reports Record Gaming Revenue of $625.5 Million

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has announced an impressive gaming revenue of $625.5 million for May, marking a 3.93% increase compared to the same month in 2025.

This revenue figure, which encompasses earnings from casinos, online gaming, sports betting, video gaming terminals (VGTs), and fantasy contests, has eclipsed the previous monthly high of $623.1 million set in January 2025. The state also accrued nearly $270 million in tax revenue from gaming activities during this period.

Among the various gaming operators in Pennsylvania, Hollywood Casino at Penn National achieved the highest total gaming revenue in May, bringing in $115.4 million, reflecting a year-over-year increase of 7.8%. Valley Forge Casino Resort followed closely with $104.5 million, although this represented a slight decline of 1.2% compared to May 2025. Rivers Casino Philadelphia reported $60 million, an increase of 3.7% from the previous year.

In retail slot machine revenue, there was a 3.2% rise to $232.1 million in May 2026, up from $224.9 million in the same month of 2025. The total number of operational slot machines across the state also increased to 24,885, compared to 24,347 a year earlier.

Parx Casino Philadelphia led the slot revenue rankings with $35.5 million, followed by Wind Creek Bethlehem at $26 million and Rivers Casino Pittsburgh at $24 million.

Online gaming continued to be one of the fastest-growing sectors, generating $254.8 million in May, a 9.44% rise from $232.9 million reported a year prior.

Hollywood Casino at Penn National dominated the online gaming market with $98.9 million in revenue, up 9.7% year-over-year. Valley Forge Casino Resort earned $69.8 million, a 9% increase, while Rivers Casino Philadelphia reported $40.8 million, reflecting a 10.5% growth. The state collected around $117.7 million in tax revenue from online gaming during the month.

Despite strong performances in other gaming areas, sports betting saw a downturn in May. The total sports betting handle dropped to $595.6 million, a 9.1% decrease from the $655.4 million wagered in May 2025. Taxable sports betting revenue also fell by 11.4% year-over-year to $52.6 million.

Valley Forge Casino Resort recorded the highest sports betting handle in the state at $201.1 million, generating $21.6 million in revenue. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows followed with a handle of $189.1 million and revenue of $15.1 million. Hollywood Casino York reported $3.1 million in revenue from a handle of $44.6 million. Sports wagering contributed nearly $19 million in tax revenue to the state in May.

Additionally, revenue from retail table games rose by 1.66% to $81.2 million, compared to $79.9 million in May 2025. Fantasy contests brought in $1.12 million in revenue, marking a 3.3% increase year-over-year.

Video gaming terminals generated $3.57 million in adjusted revenue during May, a 3.14% decline from the $3.68 million reported a year earlier. By the end of the month, all licensed VGT operators were providing the maximum allowable five terminals at each of Pennsylvania’s 75 qualified truck stops.
