The Netherlands' regulatory authority, KSA, has imposed a record fine of €24.85 million on offshore operator Novatech Solutions N.V. (operating brands Qbet and 55Bet) for operating without a license.
Another operator, Fortaprime SRL (which runs brands such as AmonBet, Supraplay, Bilucky, GXSpins, Kaasino, HiddenJack, and LuckyMax7), has been fined €1.8 million.
KSA agents were able to register, deposit funds, and play on the websites of both operators without any obstacles.
The fines are calculated based on turnover and are capped by legislation at 10%. According to the KSA chairman, without this cap, Novatech's fine would have exceeded €100 million.
KSA also noted the absence of age verification and the acceptance of cryptocurrencies on the websites of both operators. Brands under Fortaprime were promoted by Dutch influencers, who may also face penalties.
