Netflix has announced a new thriller titled 'The Big Fix', which delves into the international network of match-fixing in football. The film features a star-studded cast including Natalie Dormer, Susan Lynch, and Gabriel Leone, alongside Mark Wahlberg and Riz Ahmed.
Wahlberg will portray Chris Eaton, a former police officer responsible for security at FIFA. Eaton uncovers an international scandal involving match-fixing and tracks down its influential organizer, who is linked to Chinese triads and makes millions by bribing games worldwide.
The film is based on real events and the book of the same name by journalist Brett Forrest. Directed by Baltasar Kormákur, the screenplay is penned by Guy Bolton and Justin Haith. Producers include Peter Chernin and David Ready from Chernin Entertainment, along with Kormákur and Samantha Nisenboim.
Filming began in late April 2026 in Sydney, with the premiere date yet to be announced.
