Meta is developing a new prediction market app called Arena, aimed at competing with platforms like Polymarket and Kalshi, according to a report by The New York Times citing two company employees.
The initiative has been personally commissioned by Mark Zuckerberg, and the app will operate separately from Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger. Meta plans to grow its audience for Arena through its existing social media platforms.
Sources indicate that instead of real-money betting, Arena will likely use a system of gaming points. However, Meta does not rule out the possibility of introducing real-money gameplay in the future. The company has not commented on the product yet. According to insiders, the app is still in development and may never reach a public release.
