In the Netherlands, iGaming operator LuckyCasino, which operated in the local market before its regulation began in 2021, has started independently offering compensation to players for losses incurred during its activity from 2018 to 2021, reports CasinoNieuws.
In the letters sent to players, the operator links these payouts to the acquisition of the licensed brand OneCasino by the LCKY Group (formerly Glitnor Group), the parent company of LuckyCasino. According to CasinoNieuws, this is the first instance where an online casino that operated in the Netherlands prior to regulation is voluntarily compensating player losses, whereas previously, refunds occurred only after legal claims.
