On September 2, Italian operator Lottomatica and Spanish operator CIRSA announced their merger. The combined adjusted EBITDA of the companies over the last 12 months amounts to €2 billion, positioning the new entity as the second-largest public gambling operator in the world, following Flutter.

The parties expect to finalize the deal in Q2 2027, pending final regulatory approvals. The merged company will retain the name Lottomatica Group S.p.A., with its headquarters in Rome and a listing on the Euronext Milan stock exchange, along with an additional listing in Spain.

CIRSA will join Lottomatica through a share exchange, resulting in Lottomatica shareholders owning 67.5% of the combined company, while CIRSA shareholders will hold 32.5%.
