On the morning of March 24, an explosion occurred at the entrance of The SHAWARMA by PUNIN, a shawarma restaurant located near the old port in Limassol, Cyprus. The establishment is owned by Russian entrepreneur Dmitry Punin, who is reported to be linked to a major iGaming operator. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
This incident marks yet another attack on Punin's assets in recent months. Previously, unknown assailants set fire to PUNIN WINE, a wine boutique, as well as four of Punin's vehicles in Limassol, causing damages estimated at around €1 million.
The timing of this explosion coincides with the commencement of a trial related to the murder of Stavros Demosfenus, the president of FC Karmiotissa, who was shot in October. Sources have suggested connections between Demosfenus and Punin. The police are currently investigating the matter.
