New Hotel-Casino Silverado Planned Near Las Vegas Strip

Developer Michael Ochoa has unveiled plans for a new hotel-casino named Silverado, located approximately five miles south of the Las Vegas Strip. This initiative is part of the ongoing expansion along Las Vegas Boulevard.

The proposed resort will span 13.5 acres at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Richmar Avenue, as indicated by Clark County records and reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The initial phase of the project is set to feature 300 hotel rooms, a casino covering 57,000 square feet, dining options, entertainment venues, and conference facilities. A subsequent phase aims to add an additional 150 rooms, increasing the total capacity to 450.

According to a report from county staff, the development will consist of two six-story hotel buildings along with a five-level parking garage.

Clark County commissioners are slated to review the proposal on September 2.

Lucy Stewart, a land-use consultant representing Ochoa Development Corp., characterized the project as a “significant long-term investment” for that segment of Las Vegas Boulevard, emphasizing its role in the area's ongoing growth and revitalization.

The proposed resort will be constructed on an empty lot a few blocks north of Silverado Ranch Boulevard, directly opposite the former Paradise Spa condominium complex.

This condominium site, which had been troubled by fires and squatting issues, was demolished after new ownership was established last year. Plans for the area now include a housing development.
