Russian Betting Law Faces Criticism Over Self-Exclusion Loophole

In Russia, Denis Teplov, the product director of the bookmaker Liga Stavok, highlighted a significant vulnerability in the self-exclusion law set to take effect on September 1. In its current form, the law requires bookmakers to cancel bets on outcomes of events that have not yet occurred and refund the full amount of the stakes, even if the player has initiated self-exclusion before the bet is settled.

Teplov points out that this situation removes the risk from long-term bets, fundamentally disrupting the mathematics of the entire game.
