The cyber police in Azerbaijan have apprehended a group of five individuals involved in illegal betting operations through the banned operator 1xBet, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to investigators, the group's organizer, Jamal Akhmedov, rented an apartment in the Khatai district of Baku, where he conducted illegal betting under the profile BakuCash on 1xBet. The group primarily attracted players through Telegram.
During a search, mobile phones, bank cards, and electronic devices used for organizing illegal betting were seized. Preliminary estimates indicate that the turnover exceeded $588,000. Criminal proceedings have been initiated, and the court has arrested four of the five detainees.
