The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) in Ireland has upheld a complaint against an outdoor advertisement by operator Paddy Power. The ad, which sarcastically compared English fans to Japanese fans, was displayed during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In the advertisement, Paddy Power depicted a fallen England flag and contrasted the Japanese with the English, describing the former as polite, organized, and tidy, while labeling the latter as their complete opposite.
